Job summary

Turner Construction Company is seeking an Experienced Environmental Health & Safety leader to enforce site safety on a single construction project within the Chicago Main division, coordinating with EH&S and project teams.

You will lead training on safe work practices, manage safety programs, and drive reductions in incident rates while ensuring compliance with Federal, State, and Local regulations and owner requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety & Health, Engineering, or related field; minimum 4 years of construction safety experience.
• CHST certification required or within 2 years of appointment.
• Completed OSHA 30-hour training; maintain First Aid/CPR/BBP and AED certifications.
• Knowledge of Federal, State, and local Environmental Health & Safety regulations.

Responsibilities

• Lead EH&S on a single construction project, enforcing safety staffing per HQ policy.
• Provide safety leadership, manage time and resource allocation on the project.
• Assess safety practices and exposures; develop action plans to mitigate risks.
• Communicate requirements for improving performance to project leadership and teams.
• Develop training on EH&S programs and safe work practices for project staff and subcontractors.
• Promote safe work practices and ensure compliance with regulations and owner requirements.
• Review subcontractor safety programs for compliance and conduct safety audits and reports.
