Turner Construction Company in Chicago is seeking an Entry-level Environmental Health and Safety professional to assist in enforcing company and project EH&S policies on a major construction site.

The role supports training, safety program administration, and compliance with Federal, State, and local regulations, including OSHA standards. Requires a Bachelor's in Safety or related field and 1 year of safety experience, with strong communication and organizational skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Safety and Health or related field with 1 year of related construction safety experience or equivalent.
• Basic knowledge of safety/environmental principles and techniques.
• Familiar with Federal, State, and local Environmental Health & Safety regulations.
• Familiar with general construction operations.
• Ability to identify safety exposures and propose corrective actions.

Responsibilities

• Assist with providing training for safe work practices and implementing safety programs for construction projects.
• Review subcontractor safety programs for compliance with company policies and regulations.
• Review subcontractor training per OSHA standards.
• Promote safe work practices and conditions in line with regulations and owner requirements.
• Assist with administration of drug screening programs as required.
• Coordinate preconstruction meetings and worker orientations.
• Gather Pre-Task Plans and Job Hazard Analyses for project contractors.
