Job summary

Turner Construction Company seeks a skilled Environmental Health & Safety lead for a single project. You will enforce EH&S programs, train teams on safe work practices, and manage environmental and hazardous materials reports and conditions.

Responsibilities include leading safety on site, developing action plans to mitigate risks, and ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations while maintaining strong relationships with project staff and subcontractors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Safety & Health, Engineering, or related field with minimum 4 years of construction safety experience (or equivalent).
• CHST certification required or within 2 years of appointment.
• OSHA 30-hour training; maintain First Aid/CPR/BBP and AED certifications.
• Knowledge of Federal, State, and local EH&S regulations.
• Proactive in identifying safety exposures and leading corrective actions.
• Travel required and access to reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Lead EH&S on a single construction project per HQ policy.
• Provide safety leadership and resource management for the project.
• Assess safety practices and mitigate risks with action plans.
• Communicate requirements to project leadership for adherence to EH&S policies.
• Develop project safety reports, metrics, and improvement recommendations.
• Develop site-specific safety training for project teams and subcontractors.
• Promote safe work practices in compliance with regulations and owner requirements.
• Review subcontractor safety programs and PTPS for compliance.
• Hold preconstruction planning meetings to review safety plans and risk mitigation.
