Job summary

Layton Construction is seeking a Senior Safety Coordinator to actively support project teams in implementing environmental, safety, and health standards at the site level.

The role requires a strong foundation in construction safety, with a BA/BS preferred and multiple certifications, including OSHA 510 and 30‑hour, STS, and First Aid/CPR/AED. You will lead safety orientations, assist investigations, and collaborate with HR and operations to maintain compliance.

Qualifications

• BA/BS preferred with a minimum of 3 years of experience in construction or industrial health and safety programs.
• Demonstrated practical knowledge and continuing education in construction safety.
• OSHA 510 – OSHA Construction Standards certificate.
• Certification in First Aid, CPR, and AED (within last 2 years).
• Completed OSHA 30‑hour Construction and STS certification.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with organizational ability.
• Proficiency in English and commitment to ongoing learning in ESH competencies.

Responsibilities

• Promote Layton Way and deliver predictable outcomes for teams and customers.
• Ensure OSHA and Layton standards/policies are enforced on sites.
• Assist ESH Manager in incident investigations and data collection.
• Monitor workers’ compensation issues and report information to ESH Manager.
• Conduct site-specific safety orientations and participate in pre-construction safety meetings.
• Support injury management and provide safety-related training at the site level.
• Assist with industrial hygiene surveys and respirator fit testing as needed.
• Provide safety support to VP Field Operations and HR for compliance with FMLA, ADA, and workers’ comp laws.
• Participate in monthly Safety Committee meetings and other related duties.
