Job summary

StaffFinancialGroup seeks a Senior Construction Accountant to support the financial operations of a growing commercial construction company in an in-office capacity. The role focuses on construction accounting, project accounting, and vendor compliance with a clear path toward leadership.

The candidate will handle job costing, COIs, lien waivers, and AP while partnering with project managers to drive accuracy and efficiency. Immediate interviews and a strong growth trajectory are offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is required.
• 2–7+ years of accounting experience; construction accounting experience required.
• Strong knowledge of construction job costing, project accounting, AP, lien waivers, COIs, paid-when-paid, and vendor compliance.
• Experience with QuickBooks Enterprise is preferred; Procore experience is a strong plus.
• Solid analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills; stable employment history; desire to grow into leadership.

Responsibilities

• Manage construction accounting activities across multiple projects.
• Process construction-related invoices and maintain accurate financial records.
• Perform job cost coding and monitor project costs.
• Administer construction accounts payable and vendor payment processes.
• Review COIs, lien waivers, and vendor compliance documentation.
• Track paid-when-paid payment requirements.
• Assist with month-end close, account reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance.
• Support project accounting and financial reporting.
• Assist with Procore implementation and optimization.
• Partner with project managers and accounting leadership to ensure financial accuracy and operational efficiency.
• Take on expanded accounting responsibilities with potential to grow into leadership.
