Job summary

NorthPoint Search Group is seeking a Senior Construction Accountant to support the financial operations of a growing construction organization. The role focuses on construction accounting, job costing, vendor compliance, and a clear path to future accounting leadership.

The position offers an opportunity to grow into a broader construction accounting leadership role, with involvement in Procore, COIs, lien waivers, and pay-when-paid processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
• 2–7+ years of accounting experience.
• Construction accounting experience is required.
• Strong knowledge of construction job costing, project accounting, construction accounts payable, lien waivers, COIs, paid-when-paid processes, and vendor compliance.
• Experience with QuickBooks Enterprise is preferred; Procore experience is a strong plus.

Responsibilities

• Manage construction accounting activities across multiple projects.
• Process construction-related invoices and maintain accurate financial records.
• Perform job cost coding and monitor project costs.
• Administer construction accounts payable and vendor payment processes.
• Review and maintain COIs, lien waivers, and vendor compliance documentation.
• Track paid-when-paid payment requirements.
• Assist with month-end close, reconciliations, and GL maintenance.
• Support project accounting and financial reporting.
• Assist with Procore implementation and optimization.
• Partner with PMs and leadership to ensure financial accuracy and operational efficiency.
• Take on expanded accounting responsibilities with potential for leadership.
