Job summary

Jobot is seeking a Senior Project Accountant to evolve into a leadership role within a Minnesota‑based construction environment. You will manage project accounting across multiple projects and provide critical oversight from startup through closeout, collaborating with operations and finance to ensure accurate reporting.

The ideal candidate holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance with 5+ years of construction accounting experience, strong GAAP knowledge, and proficiency in Viewpoint

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 5+ years of accounting experience, preferably within the construction industry.
• Proficiency with ERP/accounting systems such as Viewpoint Vista, CMiC, Sage, or similar platforms.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and strong analytical capabilities.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Manage all project accounting functions from project startup through closeout.
• Monitor project budgets, costs, commitments, and financial performance.
• Prepare and maintain accurate job cost reports, WIP schedules, and financial forecasts.
• Review subcontractor invoices, vendor billings, lien waivers, and payment applications for accuracy and compliance.
• Assist project managers with cost tracking, forecasting, and financial analysis.
• Process owner billings and support accounts receivable collections activities.
• Coordinate month-end and year-end close activities related to assigned projects.
• Track contract changes, change orders, retainage, and contingency usage.
• Ensure compliance with contract terms, company policies, and accounting procedures.
• Support audit requests and assist with preparation of financial documentation.
• Collaborate with operations, project management, payroll, and executive leadership teams to provide timely financial reporting and analysis.
