Job summary

Farm Family, based in Omaha, seeks a highly capable Complex Claims Specialist to join our in-office team. The role focuses on investigation, evaluation, negotiation, and settlement of complex general liability claims, including some commercial auto claims, with responsibility for liability and coverage decisions and damage assessments.

The position is 100% in-office, with potential Albany office option. Candidates must have 5+ years of complex claims experience, Bachelor's degree, and may hold

Qualifications

• Minimum of five years of experience adjudicating complex and high exposure third-party general liability bodily injury and property damage claims.
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited university required; two or more industry designations or four years of relevant experience can substitute.
• Licensed Claims Examiner status may be required in applicable states and jurisdictions.

Responsibilities

• Adjudicate complex and high exposure third‑party general liability bodily injury and property damage claims with potential significant impact.
• Provide laser‑focused customer service and develop strong client connections with insureds and brokers.
• Analyze claims forms, policies and endorsements to determine coverage and applicable excess policies.
• Complete investigations and ensure proper reserving and timely resolution per reserving philosophy.
• Negotiate settlements within authority and participate in mediations as required.
• Maintain diary systems and coordinate with defense counsel, medical experts and other resources.
