Job summary

Farm Family in Omaha is seeking a Senior Claims Specialist to join our in-office team. You will investigate, evaluate, negotiate, and settle general liability claims, including some commercial auto claims, partnering with brokers and clients to deliver superb results.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree and at least two years of claims experience, with licenses CE requirements and a strong focus on execution, communication, and timely resolution.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required. Two years of claims adjudication experience preferred, especially general liability and commercial auto.
• Must obtain and maintain state licenses and CE requirements as needed.
• Strong business acumen and understanding of how an insurance company works and profits.
• Ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment in matters of significance.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building with clients, brokers, and internal partners.

Responsibilities

• Adjudicate first-party property damage claims with direct impact on team results.
• Provide superior customer service and develop lasting client relationships with insureds and brokers.
• Analyze claims and endorsements to determine coverage and policy applicability.
• Investigate claims thoroughly, interviewing involved parties to establish facts.
• Manage diaries and tasks to move cases toward optimal financial outcomes.
• Review reserves in line with market policies and Farm Family's reserving guidelines.
• Coordinate resources and inspections to support case resolution.
• Ensure compliance with state regulations and company procedures.
• Negotiate settlements within authority; prepare escalation notices and present to Claims Committee.
• Report trends and developments to claims management and underwriters.
