Job summary

First Merchants Bank seeks a Relationship Manager IV to drive commercial sales and manage portfolios by growing market share and revenue. You will identify prospects, develop relationships, and execute aggressive sales plans while ensuring credit risk is managed and customer service remains exceptional.

The role requires a minimum of ten years in commercial banking, a business-related degree, and strong leadership capabilities to mentor teammates and guide portfolio performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business or related field OR associate degree/two years of college + two years of related work/military experience OR four years of related work/military experience.
• A minimum of ten years of commercial banking experience.

Responsibilities

• Implement an aggressive sales and marketing strategy to develop new and existing relationships.
• Identify and develop prospects into significant new relationships with yearly goals for income production.
• Aggressive sales call plan which aligns with established goals.
• Cross sell opportunities and use bank reporting tools to track progress.
• Provide exceptional customer service; be responsive and knowledgeable.
• Monitor current loans and customers' credit profiles to ensure terms are met and to assess risk.
• Extend credit within assigned limits to commercial customers; interview applicants and assess credit risk.
• Review financial data and collateral; approve letters of credit when needed.
• Support employee development, coaching, mentorship and leadership; may supervise others.
