Job summary

Newmark is seeking a Senior Real Estate Appraiser to lead and complete complex valuations for commercial, industrial, multifamily, and specialty properties. You'll prepare USPAP-compliant reports for mortgage underwriting, acquisitions, dispositions, and portfolio analysis.

The role involves market research, income/cost approaches, defending conclusions to clients and lenders, and mentoring junior staff while ensuring regulatory compliance and QA/QC.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in real estate or related field; MS/MBA in real estate preferred.
• Must hold state Certified General Appraiser License.
• 3–6 years of experience as a Commercial Real Estate Appraiser.
• Experience writing appraisal reports and reviews for complex properties.
• Strong knowledge of valuation concepts, CRE terminology, and tax processes.
• Knowledge of Argus is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare complete appraisal reports for complex properties with senior staff oversight.
• Conduct market research and develop income, sales comparison, and cost approaches.
• Present and defend conclusions to clients, lenders, and counsel.
• Manage assignments, ensure QA/QC and regulatory compliance.
• Mentor junior staff and support proposals and business development.
• Maintain knowledge of regulations and appraisal standards.
