Job summary

Syms Strategic Group (SSG) is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer (Production Support) to provide high-level operational support for cloud-based systems and ensure 24/7 availability in a remote setup. The role requires 8+ years in systems engineering, strong experience with AWS/Azure, Linux/Windows, scripting, and CI/CD pipelines.

US citizenship and a Public Trust clearance are required, with 100% US-based remote work.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Systems Engineering, or a related field.
8+ years of experience in systems engineering or related field, with production environments.
Experience with AWS and/or Azure Cloud services and cloud-native tech.

Responsibilities

Perform day-to-day operational support of cloud systems.
Develop solutions to routine technical problems of limited scope.
Document problems in logging and discrepancy reporting tools.
Work with customers in day-to-day activities and manage on-call prompts.
Maintain system assets and ensure VA security compliance.
Collaborate with development, operations, and security teams to maintain production system operations.
