Job summary

Syms Strategic Group (SSG) is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer (Production Support) to provide high-level operational support for complex cloud systems. Remote work is available within the U.S. and the role emphasizes incident response, automation, and VA security policy compliance.

Ideal candidates will have 8+ years in engineering, strong Linux/Windows skills, and hands-on experience with AWS/Azure, IaC, CI/CD, and monitoring tools. A U.S. citizenship and Public Trust clearance are required.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in systems engineering or related field, production environments.
• Experience with cloud platforms and cloud-native tech; strong automation and IAM
• Ability to troubleshoot complex production systems and ensure security compliance.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day operational support of cloud-based systems.
• Develop solutions to routine technical problems within scope.
• Document issues and resolutions in logs and discrepancy tools.
• Coordinate with customers and teams to resolve outages and incidents.
• Maintain system assets and perform routine maintenance/installation.
• Implement continuous improvement using IT systems and procedures.
• Ensure VA security policies and compliance in all activities.
