Job summary

Syms Strategic Group (SSG) seeks an experienced Senior Systems Engineer to provide production support for complex cloud-based applications. The role emphasizes high-availability, monitoring, and customer-facing incident management.

You will work with AWS/Azure, Linux/Windows, scripting for automation, and CI/CD tooling. Remote, 100% US-based with a public trust security posture; veteran-friendly and W-2. Strong collaboration with VA department teams is required.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in systems engineering or a related field, particularly in production environments.
• 3+ years of experience with SQL query and monitoring.
• Strong cloud experience with AWS and/or Azure.
• Proficiency in Linux/Unix and Windows; scripting for automation.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and version control (Git).

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day operational support of complex application cloud systems.
• Document problems and resolutions clearly in logging and discrepancy tools.
• Work with customers on day-to-day activities and ensure timely communication of status.
• Maintain computing infrastructure, implement improvements, and manage system assets.
• Support security compliance and best practices for production systems.
