Syms Strategic Group (SSG) seeks a Senior Systems Engineer (Production Support) to oversee daily operations of complex cloud-based systems in a remote capacity for VA environments. The role requires incident response, performance optimization, and cross-functional collaboration.

Ideal candidates have 8+ years in systems engineering, strong AWS/Azure experience, Linux/Windows proficiency, scripting, and experience with IaC and CI/CD.

Qualifications

8+ years in systems engineering or related field, production environments
Experience with cloud-based infrastructures (AWS/Azure) and large-scale production systems
Proficiency in Linux/Windows OS, scripting, and automation
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and Git-based workflows
Knowledge of IaC tools and monitoring solutions

Responsibilities

Perform high-level operational support of cloud systems
Develop solutions to routine technical problems
Document issues and actions taken in logs and tickets
Collaborate with customers and teams for day-to-day activities
Respond to hardware/software issues and escalate when needed
Maintain system assets and perform regular maintenance
Ensure VA security policies and compliance
