Job summary

Syms Strategic Group, LLC is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer (Production Support) to provide day-to-day operational support for complex cloud systems and to resolve production issues. Qualifications include 8+ years in systems engineering, 3+ years of SQL monitoring, Linux/Windows administration, and strong AWS and Azure experience with CI/CD and IaC.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in systems engineering, preferably in production environments.
• 3+ years of SQL query and monitoring experience.
• Strong Linux/Windows administration and scripting skills.
• Hands-on experience with AWS and Azure cloud services and IaC.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automation tools.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily operational support for complex cloud systems.
• Develop solutions to routine technical problems of limited scope.
• Follow standard practices to analyze situations and data.
• Detect, isolate, document, and resolve outages and recover systems.
• Document issues in logging and discrepancy tools.
• Collaborate with customers on day-to-day activities.
• Respond to user issues and escalate appropriately.
• Communicate status to users and senior management.
• Maintain and install computing infrastructure.
• Apply continuous improvement to IT systems and procedures.
• Maintain asset inventory and ensure VA security compliance.
• Provide documentation and training as assigned.
