Job summary

Syms Strategic Group, LLC is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer for Production Support to maintain and optimize cloud-based, mission-critical applications in a remote capacity. Ideal candidate has 8+ years in systems engineering, strong Linux/Windows experience, AWS/Azure, scripting (Python/Bash/PowerShell), IaC, CI/CD, and the ability to troubleshoot complex production issues.

U.S. citizenship is required and a Public Trust clearance may be needed; this is a 100% U.S.-based remote role with VA

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in systems engineering or a related field, especially production environments.
• Experience with AWS and/or Azure Cloud services, Linux/Windows, scripting, and IaC tools.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and related tooling; strong problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform high-level, day-to-day operational support of complex application cloud systems.
• Detect, isolate, document, report, and resolve system outages or problems.
• Collaborate with customers and cross-functional teams to maintain system stability.
• Document issues and maintain system configurations and procedures.
• Maintain inventory of system assets and ensure VA security compliance.
