Job summary

Fuze Health seeks a Senior Database Administrator to lead the Hospice unit's database modernization. You will steer migrations to AWS RDS/SQL Server, modernize SSIS/SSRS, optimize costs, and mentor the Hospice SQL DBA team on cloud database operations.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of database administration experience
• Deep expertise with Microsoft SQL Server (2016+) performance tuning, high availability, disaster recovery
• Hands-on with SQL Server upgrades and end-of-support migrations
• Strong hands-on experience with SSIS and SSRS
• Experience with AWS RDS (SQL Server) setup, migration, monitoring
• Experience with AWS-native ETL and data migration tooling (DMS, Glue)
• Experience with monitoring tools (Datadog, CloudWatch)
• Experience with AWS Backup, DMS, and Glue
• Experience migrating SSIS/SSRS to AWS-native ETL/reporting
• Experience with Terraform for database infra management
• Experience with PostgreSQL/Aurora for future modernization
• Experience with Windows Server administration
• AWS certifications (Database Specialty, Solutions Architect)
• Mentoring junior DBAs or developers on DB best practices

Responsibilities

• Lead SQL Server modernization on EC2 and migration to AWS RDS or in-place upgrades
• Migrate and maintain SSIS ETL and SSRS reports, evaluate AWS-native options
• Drive database cost optimization and licensing efficiency
• Upskill Hospice SQL DBA team on AWS database operations
• Establish cloud-native DB monitoring and performance baselines
• Design automated backup, restore, and DR using AWS Backup
• Collaborate with DevOps on Terraform-based infrastructure
• Ensure HITRUST E1 compliance for all DB systems
• Support Hospice app team with DB development needs
• Explore PostgreSQL/Aurora as part of 2027 roadmap
