Job summary

Fuze Health Inc. is seeking a Senior Database Administrator to join the Technology Platform team for the Hospice unit.

You will lead the AWS database modernization effort, migrate SQL Server to AWS RDS or upgrade on EC2, and modernize SSIS ETL and SSRS reporting while driving cost optimization and cloud best practices. You will upskill the Hospice SQL DBA team, establish cloud‑native monitoring with Datadog and CloudWatch, and collaborate with DevOps on Terraform automation.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in database administration.
• Expertise with Microsoft SQL Server (2016+) performance tuning, HA, DR.
• Hands‑on experience with SQL Server version upgrades and end‑of‑support migrations.
• Strong hands‑on experience with SSIS (ETL) and SSRS (reporting).
• Experience with AWS RDS (SQL Server) setup, migration and monitoring.
• Experience with AWS-native ETL tools (DMS, Glue) and/or plan to modernize SSIS/SSRS in AWS.
• Experience with Terraform for DB infrastructure management.
• Experience with other DB engines (PostgreSQL, Aurora) for future modernization.
• Experience with Windows Server administration.
• AWS certifications (Database Specialty, Solutions Architect).
• Experience mentoring junior DBAs or developers on database best practices.

Responsibilities

• Lead SQL Server modernization on EC2 and AWS RDS migrations.
• Assess, migrate, and maintain SSIS ETL and SSRS reports for AWS or in‑place upgrades.
• Drive database cost optimization and right‑sizing.
• Upskill Hospice SQL DBA team on AWS database operations.
• Establish cloud‑native monitoring with Datadog and CloudWatch.
• Design automated backup, restore, and DR processes in AWS.
• Collaborate with DevOps on infrastructure automation (Terraform).
• Ensure HITRUST E1 compliance for database systems.
• Support Hospice application team with database needs.
• Explore future modernization opportunities (PostgreSQL/Aurora) for 2027 roadmap.
