Job summary

Fuze Health Inc. is seeking a Senior Database Administrator to lead the Hospice database modernization on AWS, migrating SQL Server workloads to RDS or upgrading on EC2, and modernizing SSIS/SSRS estates.

You will champion cost optimization, cloud-native monitoring, and disaster recovery strategies across a national healthcare platform. Ideal candidates bring 8+ years of SQL Server experience, strong SSIS/SSRS capabilities, and hands-on AWS RDS; familiarity with HIPAA/HITRUST and Terraform will

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in database administration.
• Deep expertise with Microsoft SQL Server (2016+) performance tuning, high availability, disaster recovery.
• Hands-on experience with SQL Server version upgrades and end-of-support migrations (e.g., off SQL Server 2016).
• Strong hands-on experience with SSIS and SSRS.
• Experience with AWS RDS (SQL Server) setup, migration, monitoring, Multi-AZ.
• Experience with AWS-native ETL and data migration tooling (AWS DMS, AWS Glue).
• Experience with database migration projects and backup/restore strategies.
• Experience with monitoring tools (Datadog, CloudWatch) and SQL Server DMVs.
• Proficiency in T-SQL, stored procedures, and query optimization.
• Experience in regulated environments (HIPAA, HITRUST, SOC2)

Responsibilities

• Lead the SQL Server modernization on EC2 and migration to AWS RDS.
• Migrate and maintain SSIS ETL packages and SSRS reports.
• Drive database cost optimization and right-sizing.
• Upskill Hospice SQL DBA team on AWS database operations.
• Establish cloud-native monitoring and performance baselines.
• Design automated backup, restore, and disaster recovery processes.
• Collaborate with DevOps on Terraform for RDS.
• Ensure HITRUST compliance for all database systems.
• Support application team with database needs.
• Evaluate PostgreSQL/Aurora for future roadmap.
