Job summary
Fuze Health is seeking a Senior Database Administrator to lead the database modernization strategy for our Hospice platform. The role focuses on SQL Server on EC2, migration to AWS RDS, and upgrading from SQL Server 2016, with a strong emphasis on cost optimization and security.
The candidate will mentor the Hospice SQL DBA team, implement cloud-native monitoring with Datadog and CloudWatch, and collaborate with DevOps on Terraform-based automation to ensure HITRUST E1 compliance across all
Qualifications
- 8+ years of database administration experience.
- Expertise in Microsoft SQL Server 2016+ performance tuning, HA, DR.
- Hands-on upgrades and end-of-support migrations.
- Strong SSIS/SSRS development and admin experience.
- Experience with AWS RDS (SQL Server) setup and migration.
Responsibilities
- Lead SQL Server modernization on EC2 and migration to AWS RDS; test compatibility and upgrades.
- Migrate/upgrade SSIS ETL and SSRS reports; evaluate AWS-native options like AWS Glue or DMS.
- Drive database cost optimization, right-size instances, and review licensing.
- Upskill Hospice SQL DBA team on cloud operations and RDS management.
- Establish monitoring with Datadog and CloudWatch; design DR strategies.
