Job summary

Fuze Health Inc. is seeking a Senior Database Administrator to lead our Hospice database modernization efforts, migrating SQL Server on EC2 to AWS RDS, upgrading versions, and modernizing SSIS/SSRS components.

You will establish cloud-native monitoring and disaster recovery, while mentoring the Hospice DBA team in best practices. The role requires 8+ years of SQL Server experience, strong ETL/reporting skills, and a track record in regulated environments (HIPAA/HITRUST).

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in database administration.
• Expertise with Microsoft SQL Server (2016+) performance tuning, high availability, disaster recovery.
• Hands-on upgrades and end-of-support migrations (off SQL Server 2016).
• Strong SSIS (ETL) and SSRS (reporting) experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning and execution of SQL Server modernization on EC2 and RDS.
• Migrate and maintain SSIS ETL and SSRS reporting, consider AWS-native ETL & reporting options.
• Drive database cost optimization and right-size resources.
• Upskill Hospice SQL DBA team on AWS database operations and best practices.
• Implement cloud-native monitoring and alerting with Datadog and CloudWatch.
• Design automated backup, restore, and disaster recovery using AWS Backup.
• Collaborate with DevOps on Terraform for RDS automation.
• Ensure HITRUST E1 compliance across database systems.
• Support Hospice application team with database development needs.
• Evaluate PostgreSQL/Aurora for future modernization roadmap.
