Job summary
Fuze Health Inc. is seeking a Senior Database Administrator for the Hospice unit, leading the AWS database modernization from SQL Server on EC2 to RDS and upgrading to current versions.
You will modernize SSIS/SSRS, optimize costs, and mentor the Hospice SQL DBA team in cloud database operations. You will establish cloud-native monitoring with Datadog and CloudWatch, implement automated backup/restore, and collaborate with DevOps using Terraform for RDS management, while ensuring HIPAA/HITRUST
Qualifications
- 8+ years of database administration experience.
- Microsoft SQL Server (2016+) tuning, high availability and DR.
- Upgrades/migrations off SQL Server 2016, testing and compatibility.
- SSIS ETL development and SSRS reporting administration.
- Experience with AWS RDS (SQL Server) setup and monitoring.
- Experience with AWS-native ETL/data migration tools (DMS, Glue).
- Knowledge of backup/restore strategies and cross-region replication.
Responsibilities
- Lead SQL Server modernization on EC2 and migration to RDS.
- Migrate and maintain SSIS/SSRS or re-platform to AWS-native ETL and reporting.
- Drive cost optimization: right-sizing, Reserved Instances, storage tiers.
- Upskill Hospice SQL DBA team on AWS database operations.
- Establish cloud-native monitoring with Datadog and CloudWatch.
- Design automated backup, restore, and disaster recovery processes.
- Collaborate with DevOps on Terraform for RDS infrastructure.
- Ensure HITRUST compliance across database systems.
