Job summary

Fuze Health is seeking a Senior Database Administrator for Fuze Care Services to lead the AWS database modernization for the Hospice unit. You will migrate from SQL Server on EC2 to AWS RDS, upgrade SQL Server 2016, and modernize SSIS/SSRS estates while controlling costs.

You will mentor the Hospice SQL DBA team, implement Datadog/CloudWatch monitoring, and ensure HITRUST compliance across systems, shaping the roadmap through 2027.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in database administration.
• Deep expertise with Microsoft SQL Server (2016+) performance tuning, high availability, disaster recovery.
• Hands-on experience with SQL Server version upgrades and end-of-support migrations.
• Strong hands-on experience with SSIS and SSRS.
• Experience with AWS RDS (SQL Server) setup, migration, monitoring, Multi-AZ.
• Experience with AWS-native ETL and data migration tools (AWS DMS, AWS Glue).
• Experience with database migration projects and recovery strategies.
• Experience with monitoring tools (Datadog, CloudWatch).
• Proficiency in T-SQL, stored procedures, and query optimization.
• Experience in regulated environments (HIPAA, HITRUST, SOC2).

Responsibilities

• Lead the SQL Server modernization on EC2 and migration to AWS RDS with upgrade testing.
• Assess and migrate SSIS ETL packages and SSRS reports, or re-platform to AWS-native solutions.
• Drive database cost optimization and right-sizing.
• Upskill and mentor the Hospice SQL DBA team on AWS database operations.
• Establish cloud-native monitoring and baseline performance with Datadog and CloudWatch.
• Design automated backup, restore, and disaster recovery processes using AWS Backup.
• Collaborate with DevOps on infrastructure automation (Terraform).
• Ensure HITRUST E1 compliance across database systems.
