GovCIO is hiring an experienced C# / ASP.NET Application Engineer to maintain and enhance a C# ASP.NET web app with a SQL Server backend, SSIS, AD integration, and SQL Server Agent jobs. This fully remote role within the United States requires strong full-stack capabilities and collaboration with cross‑functional teams.

The ideal candidate has extensive C# and ASP.NET experience, solid T-SQL skills, SSIS development, and AD/ IIS proficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS or engineering with 12+ years of experience or equivalent.
• Strong C# and ASP.NET experience.
• Solid T-SQL and SQL Server administration knowledge.
• Hands-on SSIS development and troubleshooting.
• Experience with AD and Windows Authentication.
• SQL Server Agent job management.
• Familiarity with IIS administration.
• Git-based development workflow.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and improve ASP.NET applications, ensuring UI to backend integration.
• Support SQL Server databases: queries, indexing, performance tuning.
• Update and deploy SSIS packages.
• Manage SQL Server Agent jobs and troubleshoot failures.
• Design, query, and manage SQL Server databases with T-SQL and stored procedures.
• Configure and support AD authentication and IIS settings.
• Troubleshoot issues across the full stack from UI to DB.
• Collaborate with DBAs, sysadmins, and security teams to design features.
• Maintain documentation and follow secure coding practices.
• Write clean, maintainable .NET code following standards.
• Optimize data models and database architectures for performance.
• Participate in code reviews and uphold .NET best practices.
• Stay current with .NET updates and Microsoft ecosystem.
