Job summary

GovCIO is seeking an experienced C# / ASP.NET Application Engineer to maintain and enhance a C# ASP.NET web application with a SQL Server backend, SSIS packages, Active Directory integration, and SQL Server Agent scheduled jobs. This position is fully remote within the United States.

Responsibilities include maintaining ASP.NET applications, supporting SQL Server databases, updating SSIS packages, managing SQL Server Agent jobs, designing and tuning SQL, configuring AD authentication and IIS,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS or engineering with 12+ years of experience or commensurate experience.
• Strong C# and ASP.NET proficiency with real projects.
• Solid T‑SQL and SQL Server admin knowledge.
• Hands-on SSIS development and troubleshooting.
• Experience with AD and Windows authentication; read/write to AD.
• SQL Server Agent job management and IIS administration.
• Git-based development workflow; proactive problem solving.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and improve ASP.NET (MVC/Web API/Web Forms) apps with front/back-end integration.
• Support SQL Server databases: queries, indexing, performance tuning.
• Update and deploy SSIS packages.
• Manage SQL Server Agent jobs and troubleshoot failures.
• Design, query, and manage SQL Server databases, writing T‑SQL and stored procedures.
• Configure AD authentication and IIS settings.
• Troubleshoot across UI to database/server layers.
• Collaborate with DBAs, admins, and security teams to design features.
• Maintain documentation and follow secure coding practices.
• Write clean, well-documented .NET code and follow best practices.
• Optimize data models and database architectures for performance.
• Participate in code reviews and uphold code quality.
• Stay current with .NET updates and Microsoft ecosystem.
