Job summary

Syms Strategic Group (SSG) is seeking a Senior Business Process Analyst for a Remote role supporting the Veterans Affairs (VA) department. The role focuses on continuous process improvement, organizational redesign, and performance measurement using Agile and SAFe frameworks.

The ideal candidate has extensive experience in eliciting requirements, modeling processes (UML/BPMN), and coordinating cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Proven track record leading complex projects.
• Experience eliciting and documenting requirements and workflows.
• Proficiency in creating functional specs, user stories, use cases, and process diagrams.
• Knowledge of UML and BPMN; ability to model processes clearly.
• Proficiency with Visio/Lucidchart for diagrams.
• Familiarity with Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
• Experience with JIRA and MS Project for tracking.
• Understanding of databases and basic querying.
• Strong analytical and communication skills.
• Ability to translate technical concepts for business stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead continuous process improvement and organizational redesign efforts.
• Define processes, roles, responsibilities, and performance metrics.
• Conduct current state, gap, benchmarking, and organizational analyses.
• Plan future state designs and manage change across portfolios.
• Coordinate with customer, IT, and service teams to gather requirements.
• Develop and maintain quality programs ensuring compliance and performance.
• Guide Agile/SAFe practices to align strategy and delivery.
• Provide regulatory guidance and ensure governance compliance.
• Deliver training and presentations on measurement and analysis.
