Job summary

Cushman & Wakefield in Miami Beach is seeking a Lead Operating Engineer to ensure efficient operation and maintenance of mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems for the assigned facility. The role may be the solo engineer and involve supervising maintenance staff as needed.

The position requires a High School Diploma or GED, 5+ years of related trade experience, appropriate trade licenses, and EPA 608 certification. Overtime and on‑call shifts may be required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of related trade experience in operating mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems in a commercial property setting.
• High School Diploma or GED; apprentice program or trade school preferred.
• Appropriate license/permit for trade; EPA Section 608 Universal certification; valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Assist with or conduct daily operations and maintenance of MEP systems and general maintenance requirements.
• Supervise maintenance staff when applicable and assign/monitor activities and projects.
• Perform preventive maintenance tasks and inspect/repair equipment per manufacturer guidelines.
• Coordinate maintenance with outside contractors and technicians; maintain inventory control.
• Respond to emergencies and comply with safety regulations; compile monthly reports for management.
