Job summary

Cushman & Wakefield is seeking a Lead Operating Engineer in Miami to manage daily operations and maintenance of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems in a commercial property. The role may be the sole engineer on site and may supervise maintenance staff as needed.

Candidates need 5+ years’ relevant experience, OSHA/industry licenses, and EPA Section 608 certification. The position requires strong communication, organization, and technical skills, with on‑site work and possible overtime.”

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; apprentice program or trade school preferred.
• 5+ years of related trade experience in operating mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems in a commercial property setting.
• Valid licenses for trade (e.g., Journeyman/Master Electrician) and applicable city licenses.
• EPA Section 608 universal refrigerant certification required.
• Valid driver’s license with good driving record.

Responsibilities

• Assist with or conduct daily operations and maintenance of MEP systems.
• Supervise maintenance staff when applicable and monitor activities.
• Perform preventive maintenance: change filters, lubricate motors, replace lamps, inspect belts and bearings.
