Job summary

Lincoln Property Company is seeking a Lead Building Engineer in the McLean area to oversee daily operations and maintenance of critical building systems. The role includes supervising engineers and contractors, coordinating preventive maintenance, and ensuring safety and code compliance in a 100% in-office setting.

You will partner with tenants and vendors to resolve issues, mentor staff, and maintain high service standards while upholding OSHA and NFPA requirements and company safety protocols.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED required.
• Five to seven years of industry-related experience or commensurate certification/trade experience.
• At least one year of supervisory, training, or mentoring experience.
• CFC Certification preferred or willingness to obtain; engineering/trade licenses as required by local/national rules.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office, energy management software, CMMS, and BAS.

Responsibilities

• Monitor HVAC, plumbing, and electrical equipment conditions.
• Coordinate preventive maintenance and emergency repairs.
• Oversee service contractors and ensure building standards compliance.
• Supervise and mentor junior engineers and technicians.
• Collaborate with tenants, contractors, and property managers to ensure reliable operations.
• Identify scopes of work with vendors and ensure contract terms and QC.
• Conduct regular building inspections and address deficiencies.
• Manage preventive maintenance schedules and verify execution.
• Record equipment readings and ensure systems operate per standards.
• Enforce safety protocols, OSHA/NEC/NFPA compliance, and maintain logs.
• Communicate with teammates, leadership, vendors, tenants, and client employees professionally.
