Job summary

Lincoln Property Company in Arlington, VA is seeking a Lead Building Engineer to oversee day-to-day operations, ensuring efficient and safe building performance while supervising engineering staff and contractors.

You will monitor HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, coordinate preventive maintenance, oversee service contractors, and collaborate with tenants and property managers to maintain reliable operations. The role is 100% in-office.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED required.
• Five to seven years of industry-related experience or commensurate certification/trade experience.
• At least one year of supervisory, training, or mentoring experience.
• CFC Certification preferred or willingness to obtain; engineering/trade licenses may be required by local/state/national rules.
• In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office, energy management software, CMMS, and building operations platforms.

Responsibilities

• Monitor HVAC, plumbing, and electrical equipment performance.
• Coordinate preventive maintenance and emergency repairs.
• Oversee service contractors and ensure compliance with standards.
• Supervise and mentor junior Engineers and Technicians; set performance goals.
• Collaborate with tenants, contractors, and property managers to ensure reliable operations.
• Work with vendors to identify scopes of work and oversee contract compliance.
• Conduct regular building inspections and address deficiencies.
• Manage preventive maintenance schedules and ensure execution.
