Job summary

Lincoln Property Company in McLean, Virginia, seeks a Lead Building Engineer to oversee daily operations and maintenance of building systems, ensuring safe and efficient performance while guiding engineering staff and contractors.

You will monitor HVAC, plumbing, and electrical equipment, coordinate preventive maintenance, supervise technicians, and collaborate with tenants and vendors to resolve issues. The role is 100% in-office and on-site.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED required.
• 5–7 years of industry-related experience or commensurate certification/trade experience.
• At least one year of supervisory, training, and/or mentoring experience.
• CFC Certification preferred or willingness to obtain.
• In-depth knowledge of BAS, HVAC, and electrical controls.

Responsibilities

• Monitor the operating condition of HVAC, plumbing, and electrical equipment.
• Coordinate preventive maintenance and emergency repairs for the building.
• Oversee service contractors while ensuring compliance with building standards.
• Supervise and mentor junior Engineers and Technicians; assist in setting staff performance goals.
• Collaborate with tenants, contractors, and property managers to ensure reliable building operations.
• Oversee safety training and maintain compliance logs; follow safety protocols per OSHA/NFPA.
• Record equipment readings and ensure systems operate according to standards.
• Communicate with teammates, leadership, vendors, tenants, and client employees professionally.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
