Job summary

Lincoln Property Company seeks a Lead Building Engineer to manage day-to-day operations of building systems, supervise engineering staff and contractors, and ensure safe, efficient performance. You will coordinate maintenance, address tenant issues, and partner with vendors to uphold contracts and safety standards.

The role is 100% in-office, requires after-hours availability, and offers a pay range of $41–$45 per hour with full benefits.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED required.
• Five to seven years of industry-related experience or commensurate certification/trade experience.
• At least one year of formal or informal supervisory experience.
• CFC Certification preferred or willingness to obtain; licenses required per local/state/national rules.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office, energy management software, CMMS, and building operation platforms.
• Familiar with fire/life safety equipment/procedures.
• Strong communication and customer service skills with tenants/vendors/contractors.
• Familiarity with blueprints and code requirements.
• Able to work after hours, weekends, holidays, and emergencies as needed.
• Ability to read/write English and produce reports.
• Deep knowledge of BAS, HVAC, and electrical controls; troubleshoot complex systems.

Responsibilities

• Monitor HVAC, plumbing, and electrical equipment operating conditions.
• Coordinate preventive maintenance and emergency repairs.
• Oversee service contractors ensuring building standards compliance.
• Supervise and mentor junior engineers and technicians; set performance goals.
• Coordinate with tenants, contractors, and property managers to ensure reliable operations.
• Work with vendors to define scopes and oversee contract compliance.
• Conduct regular building inspections and address deficiencies.
• Manage preventive maintenance schedules and execution.
• Record readings and ensure systems operate to standards.
• Enforce safety protocols; ensure OSHA/ NEC/NFPA compliance; maintain logs.
• Communicate with team, leadership, vendors, tenants, and clients professionally.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
