Job summary

Lincoln Property Company seeks a Lead Building Engineer to oversee day-to-day building system operations and maintenance, supervising engineers and technicians while coordinating with tenants and vendors to ensure reliable performance.

This in-office role requires BAS/HVAC/electrical controls expertise, safety compliance with OSHA/NFPA standards, and the ability to mentor staff while delivering exceptional service to clients.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED required.
• 5–7 years of industry-related experience or commensurate certification/trade experience.
• Minimum 1 year of supervisory/mentoring experience.
• CFC certification or willingness to obtain; engineering/trade licenses as required by locality.
• Familiarity with building automation systems (BAS) and code requirements.

Responsibilities

• Monitor HVAC, plumbing, and electrical equipment operation.
• Coordinate preventive maintenance and emergency repairs.
• Oversee service contractors ensuring compliance with building standards.
• Supervise engineers and technicians; assist in staff performance goals.
• Collaborate with tenants, contractors, and property managers to ensure reliable operations.
• Identify scopes of work with vendors and oversee contract terms and quality control.
• Conduct regular building inspections and address deficiencies.
• Manage preventive maintenance schedules and ensure execution.
• Record equipment readings and ensure building systems meet standards.
• Enforce safety protocols; ensure OSHA/NFC/NFPA compliance; maintain logs.
• Communicate with teammates, leadership, vendors, tenants professionally.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
