Job summary

Lincoln Property Company is seeking a Lead Building Engineer in Sterling, VA to oversee day‑to‑day operations of building systems and supervise engineering staff.

You will monitor HVAC, plumbing, and electrical equipment, coordinate preventive maintenance, oversee contractors, and ensure safety compliance with OSHA and NFPA standards. This 100% in‑office role requires strong communication with tenants and vendors.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED required.
• Five to seven years of industry-related experience or commensurate certification/trade experience.
• At least one year of supervisory, training, and/or mentoring experience.
• CFC Certification preferred or willingness to obtain as requested; licenses required per local/state regulations.
• In-depth knowledge of BAS, HVAC, and electrical controls; ability to troubleshoot complex systems.

Responsibilities

• Monitor HVAC, plumbing, and electrical equipment operating condition.
• Coordinate preventive maintenance and emergency repairs.
• Oversee service contractors and ensure compliance with building standards.
• Supervise and mentor junior engineers and technicians; set staff goals.
• Collaborate with tenants, contractors, and property managers to ensure reliable operations.
• Oversee vendor scopes of work and contract terms compliance.
