Job summary

Lincoln Property Company in Arlington, VA is seeking a Lead Building Engineer to oversee day-to-day operations and maintenance of building systems, supervising engineering staff, coordinating preventive maintenance, and coordinating with tenants and contractors to ensure reliable, safe building performance.

The role requires strong BAS/HVAC and electrical controls knowledge and the ability to read blueprints.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required.
5–7 years of industry experience or commensurate certification/trade experience.
At least 1 year of supervisory or mentoring experience.
CFC certification preferred or willingness to obtain.
In-depth knowledge of BAS, HVAC, and electrical controls; able to troubleshoot complex systems.
Proficiency with MS Office and CMMS; familiarity with blueprints and code compliance.

Responsibilities

Monitor HVAC, plumbing, and electrical equipment performance.
Coordinate preventive maintenance and emergency repairs.
Oversee service contractors and ensure compliance with building standards.
Supervise and mentor engineers and technicians; set performance goals.
Collaborate with tenants, contractors, and property managers to maintain operations.
Oversee vendor scopes and enforce contract terms and quality control.
Conduct regular building inspections and address deficiencies.
Maintain preventive maintenance schedules and ensure execution.
Record equipment readings and ensure operations meet standards.
Follow safety protocols, OSHA/NFPA regulations, and training logs.
