Job summary

Jackson Hewitt is seeking an experienced Bookkeeper to manage a diverse portfolio of client accounts with minimal supervision. The ideal candidate will combine technical accounting mastery—reconciliations, payroll, fixed assets—with strong organizational skill and precise ledger maintenance.

Requirements include a minimum of 3 years of hands-on bookkeeping, proficiency in QuickBooks Online and Google Workspace, and relevant Intuit/QBO certifications.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of progressive bookkeeping experience.
• Intermediate to advanced understanding of core bookkeeping principles and internal controls.
• Proficiency in QuickBooks Online (QBO) and Google Workspace

Responsibilities

• Perform full monthly bank, credit card, and loan reconciliations, identifying and resolving discrepancies.
• Prepare and post standard and adjusting journal entries, maintain fixed asset registers, and calculate depreciation.
• Manage client vendor payments, AR aging analysis, and proactive collections workflows.
• Handle regular payroll processing, ensure exact calculations, and assist with year-end payroll filings.
• Maintain records for multiple client accounts independently with minimal supervision.
• Provide QA and review entries for junior staff to uphold accuracy.
• Lead historical clean-up and targeted accounting projects as needed by leadership.
