Job summary

Jackson Hewitt Tax Service Inc. is seeking an experienced independent Bookkeeper to manage a diverse portfolio of client accounts in a flexible work arrangement.

You will perform full reconciliations, payroll processing, and fixed asset maintenance with keen attention to detail and strong communication. The role requires 3+ years of bookkeeping experience, expertise in QuickBooks Online and Google Workspace, and a proactive approach to client service.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of progressive bookkeeping experience.
• Intermediate to advanced understanding of core bookkeeping principles and internal controls.
• Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks Online and familiarity with Google Workspace.

Responsibilities

• Perform full monthly bank, credit card, and loan statement reconciliations.
• Prepare and post standard and adjusting journal entries; maintain fixed asset registers and depreciation.
• Manage vendor payments, AR aging analysis, and proactive collections workflows.
• Handle regular payroll processing cycles and assist with year-end payroll filings.
• Maintain accurate records for multiple client accounts with minimal oversight.
