Jackson Hewitt Tax Service Inc. is seeking an experienced Bookkeeper to manage a diverse portfolio of client accounts from a flexible home-office setup.

The role requires full reconciliations, GL maintenance, AP/AR, payroll processing, and autonomous work across multiple client books. The ideal candidate has at least 3 years of hands-on bookkeeping, strong internal controls knowledge, and advanced QuickBooks Online skills.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of hands-on bookkeeping experience.
• Strong knowledge of core bookkeeping principles and internal controls.
• Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks Online and Google Workspace.

Responsibilities

• Comprehensive Reconciliations: Perform full monthly bank, credit card, and loan statement reconciliations, independently identifying and resolving complex transactional discrepancies.
• General Ledger Maintenance: Prepare and post standard and adjusting journal entries, maintain accurate fixed asset registers, and calculate depreciation schedules.
• Advanced AP/AR Operations: Manage client vendor payments, oversee accounts receivable aging analysis, and execute proactive collections workflows.
• Payroll Execution: Handle regular payroll processing cycles, guarantee exact calculations, and assist with year-end and periodic payroll tax filings.
• Account Autonomy: Maintain timely, precise records for multiple client accounts simultaneously, executing tasks independently with minimal oversight.
