Job summary

SOLV Energy is seeking a BESS Engineer III to lead design, development, and optimization of battery energy storage systems. The role provides technical direction and oversight to ensure performance, reliability, and safety across projects.

The position is fully remote with interview discussion on location details. Applicants must have a electrical engineering background and at least 3+ years in BESS or power systems, with strong collaboration and project management skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering; master's preferred.
• 3+ years electrical engineering experience focused on BESS, renewables, or power systems.
• Expertise in BESS design, integration, and optimization (lithium-ion, inverters, BMS, grid interconnection).
• Knowledge of BESS control strategies and optimization software.
• Strong knowledge of NEC, IEEE, IBC, NFPA, utility standards.
• PE license preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serve as SME for BESS engineering scopes and guide project teams.
• Lead design and engineering of BESS, ensuring compliance with contracts, utilities, and AHJ requirements.
• Review feasibility studies, site assessments, and sizing analyses to propose configurations.
• Coordinate with EPC teams, vendors, and partners to ensure scope clarity and timely delivery.
• Oversee system modeling, simulation, and analysis to optimize performance.
• Mentor junior engineers and stay current with industry trends and standards.
