Job summary

SOLV Energy is seeking a Senior Engineer, Construction – Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) to oversee high‑risk BESS engineering scopes across EPC projects. This role acts as a technical authority and mentors junior staff while coordinating with EORs, vendors, and AHJs to ensure project success.

The position emphasizes construction engineering leadership, design review, and commissioning support, with a focus on reliability, safety, and standards development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of progressive electrical engineering, BESS, EPC, or energy storage experience.
• Strong understanding of BESS design, integration, and commissioning interfaces.
• Experience coordinating EORs, vendors, and AHJs to deliver engineering deliverables.
• Knowledge of NEC, IEEE, IBC, NFPA 855, UL 9540 and related standards.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a BESS SME for engineering scopes including layout, integration, controls, and commissioning.
• Coordinate Engineers of Record, vendors, consultants, and fire protection engineers.
• Review drawings, vendor documentation, and commissioning docs for contract alignment.
• Track engineering action items and responses through closure across projects.
• Support field teams with RFIs, design revisions, and issue resolution.
