Job summary

SOLV Energy is seeking a Senior Engineer, Construction – Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) to provide advanced technical oversight and engineering judgment across EPC projects, commissioning, and warranty activities. This senior individual contributor role focuses on BESS coordination, EOR, and complex site issues.

You will mentor junior staff, influence standards, review drawings and vendor packages, and collaborate with project teams, AHJs, and owners.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field required.
• 3–5+ years of progressive electrical engineering or BESS experience with advanced responsibility.
• Strong understanding of BESS design, integration, and controls.
• Experience coordinating EORs, vendors, AHJs, owners, and project teams.
• Knowledge of NEC, IEEE, IBC, NFPA 855, UL 9540/9540A and related standards.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office; Bluebeam, AutoCAD or similar tools preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serve as BESS SME for engineering scopes including layout, integration, controls, and commissioning.
• Coordinate engineers of record, vendors, third-party consultants, AHJs, owners, and stakeholders.
• Review drawings, specs, vendor docs, and commissioning papers for contract alignment.
• Track action items and design revisions through closure.
• Support field questions, vendor coordination, and issue resolution
• Provide senior-level engineering support during construction, testing and energization.
• Mentor staff and contribute to standards development.
