Job summary

SOLV Energy is seeking a Senior Engineer, Construction – BESS to provide advanced technical oversight, engineering judgment, and subject-matter expertise for battery energy storage systems during EPC project execution, commissioning, and warranty activities.

This senior individual contributor role focuses on high-risk BESS scopes, coordinating with engineers of record, vendors, and project teams while mentoring others and driving process improvements within SOLV Energy's Construction Engineering

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related technical field is required.
• 3-5+ years in electrical engineering, BESS, EPC, or utility-scale renewable energy with advanced technical responsibility.
• Strong understanding of BESS design, integration, commissioning interfaces, and project execution requirements.
• Experience coordinating Engineers of Record, vendors, consultants, AHJs, and internal teams to resolve complex issues.

Responsibilities

• BESS Engineering Oversight & EOR Coordination for electrical scope and project execution.
• Coordinate Engineers of Record, vendors, third-party consultants, fire protection engineers, AHJs, owners, and stakeholders to deliver BESS engineering deliverables on time.
• Review BESS drawings, specifications, vendor documentation, commissioning docs, and integration deliverables for contract and project alignment.
• Track engineering action items and responses through closure across assigned projects.
• Support field questions, vendor coordination issues, and technical conflicts involving BESS scope.
• Review system architecture, diagrams, control narratives, vendor packages, and project integration requirements to ensure coherence.
• Support fire protection design packages, hazard mitigation docs, and AHJ-facing information in coordination with specialists.
• Provide SME support, lessons learned, and guidance to field and project teams to improve efficiency and consistency.
