Job summary

SOLV Energy, Inc. is seeking a Senior Engineer, Construction – Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) to lead technical oversight on EPC projects, support commissioning, and address warranty issues.

This senior individual contributor role emphasizes high-risk BESS scopes, EOR coordination, and complex site challenges. The successful candidate will review engineering deliverables, coordinate with vendors and AHJs, mentor junior staff, and help evolve BESS standards and procedures across the

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 3-5+ years of progressive electrical/renewable energy experience with advanced technical responsibility.
• Strong knowledge of BESS design, integration, and commissioning interfaces.
• Experience coordinating EORs, vendors, AHJs, and project teams.
• Familiarity with NEC, IEEE, NFPA 855, UL 9540/9540A standards.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills.
• Willingness to travel as required and work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

• BESS Engineering Oversight & EOR coordination for system integration, controls, and commissioning.
• Coordinate Engineers of Record, vendors, third-party consultants, fire protection engineers, AHJs, owners, and stakeholders to deliver BESS deliverables.
• Review BESS drawings, specs, vendor docs, commissioning docs for alignment with contract and site needs.
• Track engineering action items, comments, vendor responses, and revisions through closure.
• Support resolution of technical conflicts, field questions, and vendor coordination issues within BESS scope.
• Technical review, vendor coordination & fire protection support for BESS system architecture and equipment layouts.
• Coordinate technical comments with EORs, vendors, owners, AHJs, independent engineers, and commissioning teams.
