Job summary

Affirm is reinventing credit with a remote-first approach, offering a transparent pay structure and equity rewards. The Batch Infra team builds scalable compute solutions to enable ML, Product, and Financial Engineering success, serving as the backbone for batch workloads in the cloud.

You will lead engineers, collaborate across product and analytics, and drive high-availability architectures while fostering a culture of ownership and continuous growth.

Qualifications

• 4+ years designing, developing and launching backend systems at scale.
• Experience with AWS, MySQL and Kubernetes in production.
• Experience with workflow orchestration frameworks (Airflow, Flyte, Prefect, Temporal, Luigi).
• Experience scaling frameworks for large datasets on Kubernetes.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience in a related field.

Responsibilities

• Own and deliver quarterly goals for the team and lead engineers through ambiguity.
• Collaborate with product, design and analytics to align on technical constraints and trade-offs.
• Identify and lead resolution of project, process, or technology issues.
• Support operations and availability of team artifacts with metrics and on-call efforts.
• Foster code quality, set guidelines, and mentor team members.
