Coinbase is hiring a Senior Software Engineer to join the Coinbase Advisor team within the Consumer & Business group. You will own backend services powering Coinbase Advisor and Strategies, ensuring fast, auditable execution for millions of customers.

Role focuses on backend on a full-stack team, developing an agentic trading AI that handles tool calling, orchestration, and regulatory compliance while collaborating across disciplines to deliver reliable features and improvements.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong experience with API design, distributed systems, data modeling, testing and debugging production failures.
• Proficiency in Go or demonstrated ability to learn it quickly.
• Experience building production LLM or agentic systems, including tool calling, orchestration, or evaluation.

Responsabilités

• Own backend services powering Coinbase Advisor and Strategies, from design through launch and ongoing operation.
• Build integrations with Coinbase's trading APIs to translate agent recommendations into execution.
• Develop the agentic harness: tool calling, orchestration, state, and recovery.
• Shape agent behavior through prompt engineering, evals, and conversation analysis with the registered investment adviser.
• Improve service reliability, latency, observability, and safeguards against duplicate actions.
• Collaborate with frontend, product, design, trading infrastructure, and legal/compliance to ship capabilities within guardrails.
