Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software engineering with backend focus.
• Strong API design, distributed systems, data modeling, testing, and debugging production failures.
• Proficiency in Go or demonstrated ability to learn it quickly.
• Experience building production LLM or agentic systems, including tool calling, orchestration, or evaluation.
• Proven ability to take ambiguous projects from zero to production with minimal oversight.
• Uses generative AI responsibly with human oversight to improve workflows.

Responsibilities

• Own backend services powering Coinbase Advisor and Strategies, from design through launch and ongoing operation.
• Build integrations with Coinbase's trading APIs so agent recommendations translate into correct execution.
• Develop the agentic harness, including tool calling, orchestration, state management, and recovery.
• Shape agent behavior through prompts, evals, and conversation analysis with the investment adviser.
• Improve reliability, latency, observability, and execution safety, including retry behavior and safeguards against duplicates.
• Collaborate with frontend, product, design, trading infrastructure, and legal/compliance to ship features within regulatory guardrails.
