Job summary

Coinbase is hiring a Senior Software Engineer to join the Coinbase Advisor team within the Consumer & Business group. This role is backend‑heavy on a full‑stack team and will own services that make agentic trading fast and trustworthy for millions of users.

You will build integrations with trading APIs, develop the agentic harness (tool calling, orchestration, state recovery), and shape behavior through prompt engineering and evals.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software engineering with backend focus.
• Experience with API design, distributed systems, testing and debugging.
• Proficiency in Go or ability to learn quickly.

Responsibilities

• Own backend services powering Coinbase Advisor and Strategies from design to launch.
• Build integrations with trading APIs to ensure correct execution.
• Develop the agentic harness including tool calling, orchestration, and state recovery.
• Shape agent behavior through prompt engineering, evals, and analysis.
• Improve reliability, latency, observability, and safeguards against duplicates.
• Collaborate with frontend, product, design, trading infra and compliance.
