Job summary

Coinbase is hiring a Senior Software Engineer to join the Coinbase Advisor team. This role focuses on backend services powering agentic trading and related strategies, delivering fast, auditable execution for millions of users.

You will work on tool calling, orchestration, prompt engineering, and integration with trading APIs, while aligning with regulatory guardrails and cross-functional partners to ship reliable, scalable capabilities.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience shipping and operating production services.
• Strong API design, distributed systems, data modeling, testing, and debugging production failures.
• Proficiency in Go or demonstrated ability to learn it quickly.
• Experience building production LLM or agentic systems, including tool calling, orchestration, or evaluation.

Responsibilities

• Own backend services powering Coinbase Advisor and Strategies from design to launch and operation.
• Integrate with Coinbase trading APIs to translate agent recommendations into executable trades.
• Develop agentic harness with tool calling, orchestration, and state management.
• Collaborate with frontend, product, trading infra, and legal/compliance within guardrails.
