Job summary
Fuze Health Inc. is seeking a Senior Database Administrator for Fuze Care Services to lead our AWS database modernization for the hospice platform serving patients nationwide.
You will drive migration from SQL Server on EC2 to AWS RDS, upgrade SQL Server versions, optimize costs, and mentor the Hospice SQL DBA team while upholding HITRUST compliance and strong data security. This is a full-time role offering comprehensive benefits and the opportunity to help modernize critical healthcare
Qualifications
- 8+ years in database administration.
- Deep expertise with Microsoft SQL Server (2016+).
- Experience with SQL Server upgrades and end-of-support migrations.
- SSIS ETL and SSRS reports experience.
- AWS RDS (SQL Server) setup and monitoring.
- AWS-native ETL tools or plan to modernize SSIS ETL in AWS.
- Backup/restore strategies and cross-region replication.
- Experience in regulated environments (HIPAA, HITRUST, SOC2).
Responsibilities
- Lead SQL Server modernization on EC2 and migrate to RDS.
- Migrate SSIS/SSRS or re-platform to AWS-native ETL and reporting.
- Drive database cost optimization and right-sizing.
- Upskill Hospice DBA team on AWS database operations.
- Establish cloud-native monitoring with Datadog and CloudWatch.
- Design automated backup, restore, and disaster recovery.
- Query optimization and index management.
- Collaborate with DevOps on Terraform for RDS.
- Ensure HITRUST E1 compliance for DB systems.
- Support Hospice app database needs.
- Evaluate PostgreSQL/Aurora for 2027 roadmap.
